It’s our application and its function is to register
the correct description of every item, mandating that
every characteristic of each family of materials gets
its own individual description eliminating once for
all risk of duplication. On top of registering an exact
and correct description our RMS standardize all pertaining
correlated information to each item such as: family
classification, measurement unit, manufacturers, manufactures’s
part number and also the client specific complementary
data.
The RMS application allows also the standardized translation
of all technical descriptions to many other foreign
languages, presently we operate in English, Portuguese
and Spanish. The RMS manages an interface that prepares
all the data related to each item before sending this
data directly to the client’s ERP, and our RMS
seamlessly interfaces with ERPs such as SAP, Oracle,
PeopleSoft, Baan, JDEdward, BPCS and all the others.
The basic operational item of our RMS is the SMD or
Standard Materials Description; they are simple schemes
to be used to indicate and to guide how every item must
be described, besides identifying all fundamental data
to be included in the SMD.
WebForMat®
This is the interface between CH and its clients and
also our unique application that is geared to serve
as a very large and dynamic “Data Pool”.
Since our inception in 1991 CH has been collecting,
maintaining and up-dating enough SMDs (Standard Materials
Description) so that in 1996 we decided to put all this
data into a “community” or “data pool”
that could be used by our clients through the Internet
so that their items could be instantly visualized and/or
maintained. New items and/or modified items can be added
to the “pool” by a simple inclusion or alteration.
CH is the outsourcing manager of the WebForMat®
and we offer to our clients the chance to maintain their
inventory on a low cost basis with a much higher quality
when compared with the same job done internally by the
client on his premises.
The benefits out of this unique application is that
while preserving the confidentiality and the characteristic
of each individual company data: (1) we are gathering
and managing thousands of SMDs from several companies,
(2) we are sharing all the SMDs they have in common
(regardless of industry), (3) we are ensuring specifications
quality on each SMD and (4) we are keeping the SMDs
on a high speed up-dating process. All these elements
